From George Ernest Asare, Kumasi
Authorities of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) have appealed to the public to help identify some patients who were admitted to the Accident Emergency Unit of the hospital late last year.
According to Mr Kwame Frimpong, Public Relations Officer of the KATH, the patients, including a 70-year-old woman, were brought in by some Good Samaritans for some head and body injuries and had since been treated and discharged, but because nobody had visited them, it has become difficult to trace their families.
Mr Frimpong said the old lady, for instance, was in a coma when she was brought in but had since been revived.
He said notwithstanding her response to treatment, she had not been able to speak, making it difficult to trace her family members and home town.
Mr Frimpong said another patient, Kofi Adjapong, who was said to have been knocked down by a vehicle, also suffered head injuries and had only mentioned his name but could not tell where he resided, his home town or the name of any member of his family.
Another patient who gave his name as Yaw Dwumah also suffered head injuries and was brought in unconscious, but had since responded to treatment.
He said the hospital authorities had already waved all the bills of the three patients because of their conditions and therefore appealed to the public to help identify them and take them home.
